Opal L. Kimble
Corning - Opal L. Kimble, age 64 of Meadowbrook Apartments, Corning, NY passed away at Corning Hospital on Tuesday, March 4, 1997. She was born in Riverside, NY on September 21, 1932 to Everett and Nellie Kalmbach Lehman Sr. Opal has been a cook in the Corning Painted Post District Food Service Department, and had been an aide with Steuben County Home Health Care. She was also a member of Robert Schuller's Eagles Club, and for many years was a volunteer at Copp's Child Care, where she was known as "Grandma" to over three hundred children.
She is survived by her son and daughter in law: Franklin and Arlene Kimble Jr. of Campbell, NY; daughter and son in law: Lucille and William Copp of Corning, NY; brothers: LeVere Lehman of Corning, NY, and David Lehman of Lindley, NY, Everett Lehman Jr. of Corning, NY, Lloyd Lehman of Hornby, NY; eight grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her husband Franklin Kimble Sr. on April 26, 1989, her parents and sisters Delores Martin and Lowetta Brown. Family and friends are invited to call at Carpenter's Funeral Home, 14 E. Pulteney Street, Corning, NY, on Thursday March 6, 7 to 9 PM, and on Friday March 7, 9 to and 11 and Noon to 2PM. The funeral and Committal Service will be at the Funeral Home on Friday at the conclusion of the Visitation, 2PM. The Rev. Jeffrey Clark will officiate. Interment will be in the Chapel Knoll Cemetery at the family's convenience.

Franklin G. Kimble
CORNING - Franklin G. Kimble, Sr., 62, 11 E. Spruce St., died Wednesday, April 26, 1989 at Corning Hospital.
He was born October 25, 1926 in Corning to Floyd and Ruth Dann Kimble.
He retired from Corning Glass Works in 1984 with 42 years of service.
Surviving are: his wife, Opal Lehman Kimble; one son, Franklin Jr. of Campbell; one daughter, Lucille Copp of Corning, several grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Calling hours are 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. today at Carpenter's Funeral Home and committal services will be there 10 a.m. Saturday, the Rev. Theodore R. Richards officiating. Burial will be in Chapel Knoll Cemetery, Coopers Plains.
Memorials may be made to St. Joseph's Hospital Foundation "Tree of Life," 555 E. Market St., Elmira 14902 of the American Cancer Society.
