Corruption

            Here is some of what God has to say about corruption. It seems especially poignant during the 2016 election.

Amos 5:10 (NKJV)
            They hate the one who rebukes in the gate,
            And they abhor the one who speaks uprightly.

Matthew 13:24-30 (NKJV)
            Another parable He put forth to them, saying: "The kingom of heaven is like a man who sowed good seed in his field;
            "but while men slept, his enemy came and sowed tares among the wheat and went on his way.
            "But when the grain had sprouted and produced a crop, then the tares also appeared.
            "So the servants of the owner came and said to him, 'Sir did you now sow good seed in your field? How then does it have tares?'
            "He said to them, 'An enemy has done this.' The servaints said to him, 'Do you want us then to go and gather them up?'
            "But he said, 'No, lest while you gather up the tares you also uproot the wheat with them.
            'Let both grow together until the harvest, and at the time of harvest I will say to the reapers, "First gather together the tares and bind them in bundles to burn them, but gather the wheat into my barn."'"

2 Peter 2:4-9 (NKJV)
            For if God did not spare the angels who sinned, but cast them down to hell and delivered them into chains of darkness to be reserved for judgement;
            and did not spare the ancient world, but saved Noah, one of eight people, a preacher of rightenousness, bringing in the flood on the world of the ungodly;
            and turning the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah into ashes, condemned them to destruction, making them an example to those who afterward would live ungodly;
            and delivered righteous Lot, who was oppressed by the filthy conduct of the wicked
            (for the righteous man, dwelling among them, tormented his righteous soul from day to day by seeing and hearing their lawless deeds) -
            then the Lord knows how to deliver the godly out of temptations and to reserve the unjust under punishment for the day of judgement,

2 Peter 2:12-22 (NKJV)
            But these, like natural brute beasts made to be caught and destroyed speak evil of the things they do not understand, and will utterly parish in their own corruption.
            and will receive the wages of unrighteousness, as those who count it pleasure to carouse in the daytime. They are spots and blemishes, carousing in their own deceptions while they feast with you,
            having eyes full of adultry and that cannot cease from sin, enticing unstable souls. They have a heart trained in covetous practices, and are accursed children.
            They have forsaken the right way of Balaam the son of Beor, who loved the wages of unrighteousness;
            but he was rebuked for his uniquity; a dumb donkey speaking with a man's voice restrained the madness of the prophet.
            These are wells without water, clouds carried by a tempest, for whom is reserved the blackness of darkness forever.
            For when they speak great swelling words of emptiness, they allure through the lusts of the flesh, through lewdness, the ones who have actually escaped from those who live in error.
            While they promise them liberty, they themselves are slaves of corruption for by whom a person is overcome, by him also he is brought into bondage.
            For if, after they have escaped the pollutions of the world through the knowledge of the Lord and Savor Jesus Christ, they are again entangled in them and overcome, the latter end is worse for them than the beginning.
            For it would have been better for them not to have known the way of righteousness, than having known it, to turn from the holy commandment delivered to them.
            But it has happened to them according to the true proverb: "A dog returns to his own vomit," and "a sow, having washed, to her wallowing in the mire."

Psalms 55:21 (NKJV)
            The words of his mouth were smoother than butter, But war was in his heart; His words were softer than oil, Yet they were drawn swords.

Proverbs 26; 24-26 (NKJV)
            He who hates, disguises it with his lips, And lays up deceit within himself;
            When he speaks kindly, do not believe him, For there are seven abominations in his heart;
            Though his hatred is covered by deceit, His wickedness will be revealed before the assembly.

2 Timothy 3:13 (NKJV)
            For those who have served well as deacons obtain for themselves a good standing and great boldness in the faith which is in Christ Jesus.

Psalms 101:6-8 (NKJV)
            My eyes shall be on the faithful of the land. That they may dwell with me; He who walks in a perfect way, He shall serve me.
            He who works deceit shall not dwell within my house; He who tells lies shall not continue in my presence.
            Early I will destroy all the wicked of the land, That I may cut off all the evildoers from the city of the Lord.

James 5:4-8 (NKJV)
            Inded the waged of the laborers who mowed your fields, which you kept back by fraud, cry out; and the cries of the reapers have reached the ears of the Lord of Sabaoth.
            You have lived on the earth in pleasure and luxury; you have fattened your hearts as in a day of slaughter.
            You have condemned, you have murdered the just; he does not resist you.
            Therefore be patient, brethren, until the coming of the Lord, See how the farmer waits for the precious fruit of the earth, waiting patiently for it until it receives the early and latter rain.
            You also be patient, Establish your hearts, for the coming of the Lord is at hand.
