Commitment

Commitment is already a huge part of our lives. We are committed to our spouses, our kids, and even our jobs, we have even made commitments to mortgages, contracts, and appointments. God loves his children and asks for our commitment to Him as well. The more committed we are to Him, the easier it becomes and is attached to the biggest payoff ever!

Genesis 8:20-21 (NKJV)
Then Noah built an altar to the Lord, and took of every clean animal and of every clean bird, and offered burnt offerings on the altar.
And the Lord smelled a soothing amora. Then the Lord said in His heart, "I will never again curse the ground for man's sake, although the imagination of man's heart is evil from his youth; nor will I again destroy every living thing as I have done.

2 Corinthians 2:15 (NKJV)
For we are to God the fragrance of Christ among those who are being saved and among those who are perishing.

Genesis 22:1-14 (NKJV)
Now it came to pass after these things that God tested Abraham, and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Then He said, "Take now your son, Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."
So Abraham rose early in the morning and saddled his donkey, and took two of his young men with him, and Isaac his son; and he split the wood for the burnt offering, and arose and went to the place of which God had told him.
Then on the third day Abraham lifted his eyes and saw the place afar off.
And Abraham said to his young men, "Stay here with the donkey; the lad and I will go yonder and worship and we will come back to you."
So Abraham took the wood of the burnt offering and laid it on Isaac his son; and he took the fire in his hand, and a knife, and the tqi of them kwent together.
But Isaaca spoke to Abraham his father and said, "My father!" And he said, "Here I am, my son." Then he said, "Look, the fire and the wood, but where is the lamb for a burnt offering?"
And Abraham said, "My son, God will provide for Himself the lamb for a burnt offering." So the two of them went together.
Then they came to the place of which God had told him. And Abraham built an altar there and placed the wood in order; and he bound Isaac his son and laid him on the altar, upon the wood.
And Abraham stretched out his hand and took the knife to slay his son.
But the Angel of the Lord called to him from heaven and said, "Abraham, Abraham!" So he said, "Here I am."
And He said, "Do not lay your hand on the lad, or do anything to him; for now I know that you fear God, since you have not withheld your son, your only son, from Me."
Then Abraham lifted his eyes and looked, and there behind him was a ram caught in a thicket by its horns. So Abraham went and took the ram, and offered it up for a burnt offering instead of his son.
And Abraham called the name of this place, The-Lord-Will-Provide, as it is said to this day, "In the Mount of the Lord it shall be provided."

Joshua 24:14 (NKJV)
Now therefore, fear the Lord, serve Him in sincerity and in truth, and put away the gods which our fathers served on the other side of the River and in Egypt. Serve the Lord.

1 Kings 20:4 (NKJV)
And the king of Israel answered and said, "My lord, O king, just as you say, I and all that I have are yours."

Judges 10:6-16 (NKJV)
Then the children of Israel again did evil in the sight off the Lord, and served the Baals and the Ashtoreths, the gods of Syria, the gods of Sidon, the gods of Moab, the gods of the people of Ammon, and the gods of the Philistines; and they forsook the Lord and did not serve Him.
So the anger of the Lord was hot against Israel; and He sold them into the hands of the Philistines and into the hands of the people of Ammon.
From that year they harassed and oppressed the children of Israel for eighteen years - all the children of Israel who were on the other side of the Jordan in the land of the Amorites, in Gilead.
Moreover the people of Ammon crossed over the Jordan to fight against Judah also, against Benjamin, and against the house of Ephraim, so that Israel was severly distressed.
And the children of Israel cried out to the Lord, saying, "We have sinned against You, because we have both forsaken our God and served the Baals!"
So the Lord said to the children of Israel, "Did I not deliver you from the Egyptians and from the Amorites and from the people of Ammon and from the Philistines?"
"Also the Sidonians and Amalekites and Moanites oppressed you; and you cried out to Me, and I delivered you from their hands."
You you have forsaken Me and served other gods. Therefore I will deliver you no more.
"Go and cry out to the gods which you have chosen; let them deliver you in your time of distress.

Ecclesiastes 5:4-5 (NKJV)
When you make a vow to God, do not delay to pay it; For He has no pleasure in fools. Pay what you have vowed-
Better not to vow than to vow and not pay.

Ephesians 6:10-11 (NKJV)
